9. The Talking Fish

As Curly and Boysie start to walk along the river they hear a voice calling.

"Help! Can you help us?"

"I'm hearing voices again," says Curly.

"So am I," Boysie tells her.

They hear the voice again. "I'm in the river."

Curly and Boysie look down and see a fish looking up at them.

"Are you a talking fish?" asks Curly. "Were you talking to us?"

"Yes," says the fish. "The river has turned salty and we fish can only live in fresh water."

"I don't know how we can help you," says Boysie.

"Please think of something," says the fish. "We cannot last much longer."

As Curly and Boysie wonder what to do, they hear another voice: "I think someone needs my help."
